APLMF
Asia-Pacific Legal Metrology Forum (APLMF) was established in November 1994.
Currently it consists of 26 full and corresponding economies: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, People’s Republic of China, Colombia, Hong King China, Indonesia, Japan, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russian Federation, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States of America and Viet Nam.
The APLMF promotes, as one of the regional organizations working in close liaison with the OIML, communication and interaction among the legal metrology organizations and seeks harmonization of legal metrology in the Asia-Pacific region.
In January 2002, Japan succeeded the Presidency and Secretariat from Australia and carried the responsibility until October 2007. Now the General Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of People’s Republic of China runs both the Presidency and Secretariat.
